You’re probably wondering what will happen next and how to prepare for your first moments with your new bundle of joy. You may have questions like, “What will it be like after the surgery?” or “Will I still get to see my baby right away?” We’re here to answer all your questions about C-sections from what happens before the operation to what happens after you leave the hospital.

If you have any metal objects, such as jewelry, watches, or dentures, please leave them at home, so they do not interfere with our equipment during the procedure. You may bring eyeglasses and contact lenses if needed; however, we ask that they be removed before entering the operating room (OR).

• Bring a list of all medications, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements taken daily, along with their dosages so they can be written on your surgical consent form by our nursing staff when you arrive at our clinic on the day of surgery; please also include any allergies to certain medications or foods for review by our physician before discharge from recovery following surgery. It is also helpful if someone will follow up with us once home from hospitalization postoperatively should there be any questions regarding follow-up care such as wound dressing changes or medication refills required by physician’s orders based upon test results obtained during the hospitalization period.”
